Community Pain Center™ Promoted by Dr. David Katz in Huffington Post

The Community Pain Center is the only interactive self-management website for chronic pain patients and the medical community to collectively improve health outcomes and achieve cost savings. Developed by Community Health Focus, Inc., this revolutionary destination website combines a wealth of information and interactive programs to amend the health care system.

On January 28, 2015, one of the country’s leading physicians of preventive and integrative medicine, Dr. David Katz, in his Huffington Post article, “Holism, Holes and Poles,” announced his involvement in “the online delivery of holistic care to a larger population.” This online delivery platform that he is now involved in is the Community Pain Center (CPC), which offers a host of complementary and integrative health solutions for people affected by chronic pain.

Dr. David Katz MD, MPH, FACPM, FACP, is the founding director of Yale University’s Yale-Griffin Prevention Research Center, President of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, and the Founder and President of the non-profit Turn the Tide Foundation. He is a recognized thought leader in nutrition, chronic disease prevention/health promotion, weight management, and integrative medicine. Dr. Katz is the Chief Medical Officer of Community Health Focus, Inc., the company responsible for the creation of the CPC.

As Chief Medical Officer of CHFI, Dr. Katz provides medical oversight, expertise and leadership to ensure access to affordable quality health care services. He administers clinical guidance in all areas of product development and referral, clinical customer interface, and product and service safety reviews for the company.

Community Health Focus, Inc. was established by the founder and past president of the National Fibromyalgia Association, Lynne Kennedy Matallana. As the President and Chief Executive Officer of CHFI, Ms. Matallana is an inspirer with a strategic vision. She has created the corporate strategy and master plan to bring an integrative and interactive solution to the pain community through the Community Pain Center. In the course of building CHFI, along with its products and services, she has depended upon her vast experience raising awareness for patients suffering from chronic pain, as well as her expertise in forming partnerships with key individuals and healthcare companies. Under her guidance and aided by her passion, the CPC is growing into a major online portal for patients, caregivers, and health care professionals, that is not just hopeful, but helpful.

Ms. Matallana says that she was compelled to develop the CPC because “research over the past twenty years has proven that over 100 million Americans living in pain are not receiving the kind of care they need in order to successfully treat their often life-altering pain symptoms.” Studies show that new treatment options and improved access to care are two critical components necessary to improve the underserved needs of this community.

The CPC is the vehicle for serving the needs of people living with pain. As the only multi-disciplinary, patient-centric, one-stop destination web portal for actively managing health through a variety of means, the CPC is a community destination where people of like interests and needs are brought together to support and motivate one another, which has been shown to improve the patient’s overall health.

Membership in the Community Pain Center is currently free until later this year. Full membership will be $50 annually excluding incentives and special discounts. The site can be accessed at

Community Health Focus, Inc. (CHFI) aims to offer the chronic pain community “hopeand help” in actively working as a collective to promote and attain better health. Membership information, services, and community resources are available through the portal
